Re-Issue Construction by Powell Peralta:
Manufactured in collaboration with our partner in Mexico, this deck is made using U.S.-sourced hard rock maple and glue that aligns with our strict specifications. It comes with a warranty against delamination for its entire lifespan. Both the shape and graphics were expertly developed in Santa Barbara, California.

In the year 1986, jump ramps surged in popularity due to their ease of construction, portability, and sheer fun factor. However, this trend brought a significant downside: skateboard decks were frequently snapping upon impact. In response to a growing number of Powell Peralta deck returns, the company began to explore strategies to enhance the strength and resilience of its decks, particularly against breakage during jumps. One of the innovations introduced was Bonite construction, but they also designed the "Gee-Gaw" shape, which featured bumps specifically engineered to reinforce the area prone to breaks. The name "Gee-Gaw" originates from input by pro skater Chris Iverson. This unique shape was similarly utilized for the Ripper graphic and was produced between 1987 to 1988.

The iconic "Skull & Sword" graphic showcased on the Rodriguez deck marks a significant milestone as it was the very first pro signature deck graphic released by Powell-Peralta. This legendary design was conceptualized by Ray and brought to life through the illustrations of V.C. Johnson, guided by the art direction of George Powell back in 1979.
