The story of this beloved skeleton design begins in 1977, when artist VCJ created two black-and-white promotional posters for Bones wheels. A year later, Court embarked on an innovative project aimed at transforming the Bones theme into a vivid representation of a skateboarding skeleton.

To achieve an authentic look for his artwork, George procured a life-sized skeleton from a medical supply store, naming it Rosie. After meticulous propping and rigging, Rosie was positioned to capture the essence of a skateboarder in action. Following hours of work, Court finalized his design at the end of 1978. This artwork became not only a Bones sticker but also the first T-shirt graphic under the newly established Powell Peralta brand.
