About the Cab "Ban This Dragon" Artwork
In 1988, Powell Peralta placed an "Artist Wanted" ad in both Thrasher and TWS magazines, inviting artists to submit their work for a chance to join their art department in Santa Barbara. Sean Cliver emerged as the chosen artist due to his illustration style closely reflecting that of renowned artist VCJ.

Cliver made his debut in T-shirt design with the Barbee Ragdoll graphic, stepping away from the classic VCJ aesthetic. However, when tasked with revamping the classic Caballero dragon, he chose to emulate VCJ's style, creating a striking homage to the original.

Over time, the design became known as the "Cab Ban This Dragon," significantly featured in a well-loved video that showcased a memorable slow-motion sequence, solidifying its place in skate culture history.
