About the Cab Chinese Dragon Artwork

After an impressive six-year run, it became necessary to update the graphic on Caballero's skateboard deck. Coinciding with the filming of the Animal Chin video in 1986, a fresh dragon design was introduced for Caballero. This artwork, now widely recognized as the Cab Chinese Dragon, was inspired by the iconic Chinese takeout box and ultimately brought to life by the talented artist VCJ.

The Chinese Dragon graphic was launched on a new "fish" shape, available in both full size and mini versions. Crafted with precision, the deck was constructed from 7-ply maple wood, as well as featuring "Bonite" materials. However, this striking design was short-lived, as production ceased in 1987, marking the end of an era.

Powell-Peralta Re-Issue Construction Details

The Powell-Peralta re-issue decks are faithful reproductions of their original 1980s counterparts. These decks maintain the classic Pro graphics and shapes, complete with the original top graphic logo and concave design. They are produced in the Santa Barbara skateboard factory, which still operates under the guidance of many of the same skilled craftsmen who created these boards decades ago.
