The creative journey of the Skateboarding Skeleton began in 1977 when artist VCJ designed two black-and-white posters to represent Bones wheels. A year later, he was inspired to expand on this theme by illustrating a skeleton engaged in skateboarding. To bring this vision to life, he collaborated with George, who provided a life-sized skeleton from a medical supply store. Named Rosie, this skeleton was meticulously positioned to mimic the stance of a skateboarder. After several hours of setting up, Rosie was frozen in her skateboarding pose, allowing Court to launch into the artistic process.

His work was completed towards the end of 1978 and marked a significant milestone as it became the first illustration to be featured as part of the new Powell Peralta brand, appearing on both stickers and t-shirts. This legendary artwork has not only become a beloved icon in skate culture but also serves as a testament to the innovative spirit of the sport.
